Let’s see what Agnieszka from Poznań said!
What should people know about AIESEC?
AIESEC is the organisation that helps you develop yourself by challenges. At first you don’t understand how it really influences you but after some time you get the point.
We develop here leadership, so bunch of skills very useful in life: solution orientation, self-awareness and also how to empower others and be a world citizen who takes care and acts upon world issues.
In the end you are starting to understand that you are part of something bigger and that in this organisation you can really have the influence on local and global environment and change things that annoy you in this world.
How did AIESEC help you to develop yourself?
By my experience in AIESEC I’ve learnt a lot about myself. I’ve learnt my strengths and weaknesses and understood how to focus on good sides.
Moreover I’ve learnt a lot of soft skills – as communication, public speaking, problem solving, team management and crisis management – and hard skills – graphic design in Photoshop, canva, mastering powerpoint.
What kind of people did you meet in AIESEC?
In AIESEC I met most amazing people ever! Smart, positive, engaged, always acting first rather than complaining. They don’t judge you on any base, they accept you for who you truly are.
Here I met people with whom I can not only have fun but also talk about serious issues, discuss our world-views, challenge our mindsets and make something bigger together!
What kind of impact did you have in the world/local reality thanks to AIESEC?
Thanks to AIESEC I’ve enabled over 20 young people to live their experience abroad who because of it changed their mindsets and developed themselves a lot. What is more I organised job-fairs Dni Kariery®, which enabled over 1,5 thousand young people to find a job or internship.
Right now, leading the local committee in Poznań with my members we send young polish people on exchanges and organise social projects for foreign volunteers by which we are impacting hundreds of kids in Wielkopolskie each year. This is the impact I could never make on my own being just 21.
